The weather promised to be nasty but the first winter storm of the season took a track to the north. George, Bill, Ann and I selected our tools and went at the blackberries, clematis, ivy and other invasives along Ravenna Creek just north of the soft ball field in the southeast end of the park.
The day turned out to be cool, but far from unbearable and we managed to get quite a bit done.
Volunteers are welcome anytime. Friends of Ravenna Ravine and Green Seattle Partnership will have another work day in Ravenna Park in January and in February several hundred root stock trees will arrive. Many hands are needed for this project and I invite you to contact me to find out how to help make Ravenna Park as good as it can be.
