The Roosevelt Development Group requested a meeting with the Seattle Department of Planning and Development to discuss their future plans to apply for a rezone of approximately 4.85 acres of land owned by Hugh Sisley. The current zoning on these parcels ranges from SF (Single Family) to NC2 40 (Neighborhood Commercial 2 40 feet). The RDG is hoping to get increases ranging from L2 to NC3 160. Seattle City Councilmen Bruce Harrell and Nick Licata toured the Roosevelt/Ravenna area Saturday morning as guests of Roosevelt Neighborhood Zoning Committee chairman Jim O'Halloran. The three along with a handful of neighborhood residents walked up NE 65th Street from the Bus Stop Espresso to 16th Ave NE. Along the way the people from the neighborhood expressed their delight at the upcoming transit station but also voiced concerns that up-zoning properties, just because they have been allowed to deteriorate, may not be the best way to allow for more density in the neighborhood around NE 65th and 15th Ave NE. ...
