The Friends of Ravenna Ravine are having their usual 2nd Saturday work party from 10:00-12:30 Saturday April 10th. If you can help out, it would surely be appreciated. The weather looks sunny but the work could possibly be muddy.
George says, "We will continue removing blackberry and ivy up the road from the kiosk beyond where the tributary stream comes in from the north. Much of the area we want to clear is very muddy, if you can bring rubber boots it would help us get into difficult areas. If you don't have rubber boots, or just don't like that sort of thing, there will be other places to work.
Meet at the Kiosk (near the Tool Box). Ravenna Park lower play field in SE Ravenna Park, North of NE 55th St. and North of the ball field.
You will be most comfortable if you wear layers of clothes, and sturdy shoes, that you don't mind getting dirty. Bring water. Tools and gloves will be provided."
Many high school and college students help FRR for their community service credits. Do you know someone looking for such a project?
