The Seller-Broker relationship is now more important than ever. There was a time, when by law, most real estate brokers represented the seller. Attorneys argued that the seller has contracted to pay for the sale of their home and has provided information to that effect.

The listing broker and the firm he is with contract with other firms and agents through multiple listing organizations, and therefore the other brokers were considered sub-agents of the listing broker.

In the early 1990′s the realization that the broker working with the buyer should represent the buyer became apparent and was, with struggle, over a period of years, accepted as reasonable.

That’s where we stand today. The seller only has one broker to represent him and everyone else is working with various buyers.
